Become a member of RIC
At the RIC rowing club we also welcome rowers who don't speak Dutch. Here you'll find some information in English.
The Amsterdam rowing club RIC is situated on a bend in the river Amstel at the point where it just enters the city. The club/boat house is easily accessible by public transport (between Amstel rail station and Spaklerweg metro station) and is also close to the A10 ring road (exit S111).
The river Amstel is one of the most beautiful rivers in Holland and extensively used by rowers. With its unique position on this nicely meandering river, RIC is a great starting point for outings through the polder landscapes as well as the famous Amsterdam canals.
RIC is a thriving club, active in every field of rowing activities and for all ages, children to seniors. From regattas (2km and long distance) to touring.
An increasing number of expatriates are joining our club due to the international position of Amsterdam and its trade connections. We have already welcomed members from the UK, Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, Germany, Canada, New Zealand and the USA among others.
RIC is entirely run by volunteers, of course there is no obligation to join the "work force", but by lending a helping hand you will quickly get to know everyone and make new rowing friends.
So, if you are looking for a good workout, a nice outing, and a relaxing drink afterwards in the friendly atmosphere of our club, you are welcome. Come and see for yourself!
